CASE 42: Leg (Fibula + Tibia) Osteosarcoma
- Hits: 50
Our female patient, who underwent reconstruction with proximal tibia tumor prosthesis and muscle (Gastrocnemius + Soleus) flap after wide resection following chemotherapy for osteosarcoma originating in the fibula but invading the tibia.
Before the surgery: X-ray shows a mass causing destruction of almost the entire fibula, accompanied by dense vascularization on CT angiography.

Before the surgery: MRI and CT scans show fibula damage, an irregularly bordered mass extending into soft tissue, surrounding edema, and invasion of the tibia.

During the Surgery: The incision line, suturing of the patellar tendon to the implanted prosthesis, and coverage with muscle (gastrocnemus and soleus) flaps are shown.

During the Surgery: Clinical and fluoroscopy images of the removed tumor tissue.
