CASE 22: Osteosarcoma located in the thigh bone (femur)

Our female patient underwent extensive resection, vascular reconstruction, and total femoral prosthesis following chemotherapy for classic osteosarcoma located in the femur.
Before the surgery: The X-ray shows an irregularly bordered sclerotic tumor tissue filling almost the entire femur and extending distally into the soft tissue.

Before the surgery: MRI shows an irregularly bordered tumor tissue forming a large mass distally, filling almost the entire femur, accompanied by surrounding edema.

During the Surgery: Vascular reconstruction with saphenous vein graft after total femur resection.

During the Surgery: The removed tumorous femur and the total femur prosthesis to be implanted.

Post-Surgery: The X-ray shows a total femoral prosthesis implantation.
