CASE 20: Femur Osteosarcoma
- Hits: 47
Our young male patient underwent extensive resection and total femoral prosthesis reconstruction after chemotherapy due to a pathological fracture caused by telangiectatic osteosarcoma located in the femur.
Before the surgery: The X-ray shows a displaced fracture in the femoral diaphysis.

Before the surgery: The MRI shows irregularly bordered tumor tissue both inside and outside the bone at the fracture line, along with surrounding widespread edema.

During the Surgery: The incision line, sciatic nerve, and femoral artery/vein bundle are visible after resection.

During the Surgery: The images show the removal of the tumor bone, the application of a trial prosthesis, and the placement of a total femur prosthesis.

Post-Surgery: The X-ray shows the placement of a total femoral prosthesis after resection.
