CASE 6: Osteosarcoma Located in the Sacrum and Pelvis

- 24-year-old male patient
- He underwent chemotherapy for osteosarcoma located in the sacrum and iliac wing.
- No metastases.
- The patient underwent total sacrectomy and hemipelvectomy followed by lumbopelvic fixation and cage reconstruction.
- The wound was closed by rotating a muscular flap (VRAM) from the anterior abdominal wall.
Preoperative examination: X-ray shows irregularities and increased density in the sacrum and iliac crest.

Preoperative: MRI shows tumor tissue filling the spinal canal, accompanied by a large soft tissue component in the same area.

Surgical procedure: The video shows an incision made in the front of the abdomen, the tumor being separated from its major vessels, a muscle flap being prepared, and then the tumor being removed in one piece after turning around.

Postoperative: X-ray shows wound closure after lumbopelvic fixation and cage reconstruction.
