CASE 11: Posterior Chondrosarcoma of the Iliac Wing

- 47-year-old female patient
- She has a history of surgery and radiotherapy for cervical cancer.
- The patient presented with a complaint of pain in the back of the right hip.
- Radiological examinations revealed a mass in the posterior iliac wing.
- Closed needle biopsy was evaluated as chondrosarcoma.
- No metastases were detected in the scans.
- The patient underwent extensive resection (Type I hemipelvectomy) followed by reconstruction (fibula + rod/screw).
Preoperative: MRI shows a heterogeneous, contrast-enhancing mass located posterior to the iliac wing; PET-CT shows intense enhancement.

During the operation: Clinical and radiological images of the removed resected tissue.

Postoperative: X-ray shows fibula and rod/screw reconstruction after Type I hemipelvectomy.
