CASE 20: Recurrent Chondrosarcoma Located in the Right Hip (Acetabulum)

• 67-year-old male patient
• He had previously undergone surgery twice at different healthcare facilities for chondrosarcoma located in his right hip.

• The patient presented with groin pain and difficulty walking that had been present for the past 3 months and had worsened over time.
• The patient, who was found to have recurrence on radiological examinations, underwent extraarticular hip resection (Type 2+3 Internal Hemipelvectomy) and reconstruction with a Lumic prosthesis.

Before the surgery: The X-ray shows a cemented total hip replacement in the right hip, a titanium plate implanted in the acetabulum, and a recurrence of a medial acetabulum tumor.

Before the surgery: MRI confirms tumor recurrence.

During the Surgery: The incision planning, the placement of the titanium plate over the vascular structures, and the continuity observed after its removal are all noteworthy.

During the Surgery: The clinical and radiological images of the removed tumor tissue, the cavity created after tumor removal, and the prosthesis implantation are shown.

Post-Surgery: The X-ray and CT scan images show the tumor prosthesis implanted after resection.
