CASE 13: Hip-Located Extraskeletal Ewing Sarcoma

Our young female patient underwent reconstruction with a TFL muscle flap after wide resection following chemotherapy for extraskeletal Ewing sarcoma located in the hip.
Before the surgery: A soft tissue shadow is visible on the X-ray.

Before the surgery: MRI shows a large, heterogeneous tumor tissue with irregular borders in the right gluteal region.

Before the surgery: Increased intense activity is seen on PET-CT.

During the Surgery: The image shows the incision line being determined and the space created after tumor excision.

During the Surgery: Clinical image of the removed tumor.

During the Surgery: The applied TFL flap is shown.
