CASE 12: Ewing sarcoma located in the right pubic arm

  • 28-year-old female patient
  • The pain and swelling in the groin area, which has been present for 5 months, has increased over time.
  • The patient was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma after a needle biopsy.
  • The patient, who had no metastases detected in the scans, underwent type 3 resection and fibula/titanium plate reconstruction after receiving 4 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
  • The patient experienced no problems during or after the surgery and was referred to medical oncology for continuation of chemotherapy following wound healing in the second week.


Before the surgery: X-ray shows irregularity in the right pubic arm, and MRI shows an accompanying soft tissue component and peritumoral edema.

During the Surgery:
The image shows the planning of the incision, the removed tumor tissue, and the reconstruction performed.

Post-Surgery:
The image shows the fibula after resection and reconstruction with plate/screws.
