CASE 8: Osteosarcoma located in the sacrum and pelvis

- He underwent chemotherapy for osteosarcoma located in the sacrum and iliac wing.
- No metastasis.
- The patient underwent total sacrectomy and hemipelvectomy followed by lumbopelvic fixation and cage reconstruction.
- The wound was closed by rotating a muscular flap (VRAM) from the anterior abdominal wall.
Before the surgery: X-ray shows irregularities and increased density in the sacrum and iliac wing.

Before the surgery: The MRI shows tumor tissue filling the spinal canal, accompanied by a large soft tissue component in the same area.

During the operation: The procedure involves entering through the front of the abdomen, separating the tumor from its major vessels, preparing a muscle flap, and then turning back to remove the tumor in one piece.

Post-surgery: The X-ray shows wound closure after lumbopelvic fixation and cage reconstruction.
